Meeting the Requirements of the 8570.1 Directive
DoD Directive 8570.1
was issued by the Department of Defense and affects thousands of Military, Civilian
and Contractor personnel. If you are associated with the Department of Defense
and have access to a DoD network, you are probably affected by the requirements
of this directive. Most information assurance (IA) personnel must be fully trained and certified
within six months of assignment to a position covered by this directive.
In many cases, CompTIA certifications such as A+, Security+ or Network+ can satisify these
certification requirements. But simply taking a CompTIA course is no assurance of being able to pass
