Course Description and Audience Profile
This 5-day, instructor-led Focus-Camp focuses on critical back-end services such
as DNS, DHCP, IP configuration, Wireless and VPN connectivity etc. These are the
services that most users take for granted because they are often unseen until something
goes wrong. This course will help prepare students for their MCTS: Server 2008 Network
Infrastructure exam. Topics included in this course:
- Understanding and Configuring IP
- Configuring and Deploying Domain Name Servers (DNS)
- Configuring a DNS Zone Infrastructure and Active Directory Integration
- Configuring and deploying Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) servers
- Configuring IP routing
- Connecting to networks using NAT, Wireless and VPN connectivity
- Securing network traffic with IPSec
- Configuring Windows Firewall and Network Access Protection (NAP)
- Managing Software Updates with WSUS

Prerequisites
This course is not accelerated, but in order to maximize the skills learned, a student
should have at least a year of experience working with Windows Server 2000 or 2003
as an administrator. Previous experience with IP and DNS is strongly reccommended.
