Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) certification is the first true OS certification that concentrates on the
service desk role and establishes a set of skills that are standard throughout the industry. This certification was designed to
reduce the guesswork for building and maintaining a strong desktop support staff. It provides individuals with a set of skills and
the troubleshooting proficiency needed to be an effective service desk operator.
For current and future MCDSTs, Microsoft exam 70-621 MCITP: Enterprise Support Windows Vista,
will upgrade your credential to include Vista. That will give you the dual certifications that service desk professionals will need for
years to come. Microsoft has no plans to retire the MCDST certification in light of Vista. A good course of action is to achieve your
MCDST now and then add the upgrade to Vista. That way you will have the dual certifications of XP and Vista, both of which will be needed for years to come.
FLS will begin offering a new camp for this upgrade in early to mid 2007.
Our MCDST on XP Camp is a 5 Day, non-accelerated, instructor led course that focuses on the skills, as well as the two certification exams, required to achieve the MCDST credential. Students will prepare for and take the following exams during this camp:

| To be an MCDST candidate, you should have at least six months of experience working with a desktop operating system. |
