This 5-day, instructor-led Focus-Camp provides in depth training on configuring
and troubleshooting Active Directory in a Server 2008 environment. For many network
professionals, this can be the most important information they need.
The Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) on Server 2008 credential,
identifies an IT professional who has extensive and detailed knowledge of a Windows
Server 2008 Active Directory environment. Topics included in this course:
- Designing and configuring the Active Directory structure
- Configure Active Directory Domain Services forests, domains, trusts, and sites
- Detailed implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Group Policy
- Creating and maintaining Active Directory Users, Computers, and Groups
- Deploy additional server roles such as Lightweight Directory Services and Federated
Services
- Monitor directory performance, perform backups and recover from failures
- Configuring Domain Name Systems (DNS) for Active Directory
- Implement read-only domain controllers, authentication, auditing, and other enterprise
security features
- Implement Active Directory Certificate Services

Prerequisites
This course is not accelerated, but in order to maximize the skills learned, a student
should have at least a year of experience working with Windows Server 2000 or 2003
as an administrator.
