Windows Server 2008 MCTS/MCITP Bootcamp
Bootcamp Description
Achieving MCITP Server Administrator requires three exams. The material covered
in this camp will include the vast majority of nuts-and-bolts issues and knowledge
that practical network administrators require. It is far more rigrous and technically
involved than the older Server 2003 MCSA certification. There is much more emphasis
on Active Directory, Group Policy, Network Infrastructure and a myriad of other
areas not covered with any depth in the old MCSA certification requirements.
Please Note: If you are a current 2003 MCSA or MCSE and wish to "upgrade"
to MCITP Server Administrator, this is also the place to be. In order to keep the
exam structure and preparation as focused as possible, we will cover the three exams
listed on this page, regardless of current certifications held. This will greatly
simplify "study" time and material review.
FYI: An ideal way to get a head start on Server 2008 is to start reading.
Microsoft has a
wealth of information available at Technet. You could spend quite a while
here and it would all be time well spent!

Prerequisites
Minimum 2 years hands on experience as a network administrator. This camp is not
highly accelerated but it is not for people who are new to the IT industry. To be
successful in this camp, it is important that you have been working with Windows
Server 2000 or 2003 on a regular basis as an administrator, not just as an end user.
Students should have the following experience:
- Experience planning, implementing, managing, maintaining, and securing Microsoft
Windows Server 2000 or 2003, including Active Directory and Network Infrastructure
server roles.
- Working knowledge of networking, for example, TCP/IP and Domain Name System (DNS).
- Experience installing, configuring, and administering Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows
XP Professional, or Microsoft Vista.
- MCSA on Windows Server 2003 or MCSE on Windows Server 2003 recommended.
