New Choices for Windows 7 and Server 2008 Skills Training
Focus camps are only slightly accelerated with an emphasis on nuts-and-bolts usable skills as
well as the objectives for the exams. All Focus Camps are five
days in length and include a combination of lecture, demonstration, extensive hands on and sometimes
even experimentation.
A Focus Camp allows you to tackle your certification in logical chunks, with each camp
being focused on a specific exam and the objectives and skills that exam requires.
Non-Accelerated Focus Camps with Exam Objectives Emphasis
Focus-Camps offer an alternative to a full Bootcamp. Each non-accelerated five
day camp is a standalone course that focuses on specific skills development and
exam objectives preparation for one of the MCTS certifications. Each Camp is heavily
oriented to hands on skills creation. Students who attend one of these courses will
find the emphasis on learning. And when you really learn, you are well prepared
for the exam.
Each course is independent of the others. Some students may elect to attend only
the area of their interest. A Focus Camp will also usually include additional materials
and topics not found in a standard Microsoft course. This is to make sure that all of
the objectives of the exam are well covered.
Exams are optional any time after the end of the course. For those who wish to take
the related exam, they will probably want to take a few days to review
material and go through the practice exams that are included in the course.

The MCTS/MCITP certification structure that Microsoft now follows allows for much
more specialized and recognizable professional credentials. Everyone is familiar
with Bootcamps, but over the years, many individuals have wanted a more modularized
